Sequatchie Darter
Etheostoma blennius sequatchiense
About This Fish

The Sequatchie Darter is restricted to the Sequatchie River in southeast Tennessee. They live in rocky riffles and the four dark saddles across their back act as camouflage with the substrate. The location of their eyes on top of their head as well as their general body shape resembles blennies, smaller fishes found in marine ecosystems.
