Cherokee Darter (Etheostoma scotti)

Description:

The Cherokee Darter is found throughout most of the Coosa River System in east-central Alabama, northwest Georgia, and southeast Tennessee. They live in rocky pools and riffles in creeks and small rivers. The Cherokee Darter gets its name from the indigenous people from this area. Like many members of the Snubnose Darter group, they have a blunt snout.
