About This Fish

The Everglades Pygmy Sunfish occurs in Gulf and Atlantic coast drainages from Alabama to North Carolina. As the common name implies, Everglades Pygmy Sunfish have a maximum size of just over one inch and have a lifespan of one year. They are found in vegetated habitats in sloughs and backwaters that are typical of the Everglades.
