Rhinichthys obtusus
About This Fish

The Western Blacknose Dace is found in central North America in the Ohio River Drainage, including the Tennessee and Cumberland river drainages, as well as Mississippi River, Great Lakes, and Hudson Bay drainages. They are also found in the upper Mobile Basin through stream capture. They live over rocky substrate in a variety of currents in headwaters to medium rivers. As the common name suggests, Western Blacknose Daces have a black stripe across their nose.
