Blenny Darter (Etheostoma blennius)

The Blenny Darter is restricted to the lower Tennessee River drainage in northwest Alabama and Tennessee. They live in rocky riffles and the four dark saddles across their back act as camouflage with the substrate. As the common name suggests, Blenny Darters resemble the general shape of blennies, smaller fishes found in marine ecosystems, which also have eyes on top of their head.
