Greenbreast Darter (Etheostoma jordani)

Greenbreast Darters are found in eastern Mobile Basin river systems in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. They are found in rocky riffles and runs of creeks to medium rivers. The common name of Greenbreast Darter is misleading as breeding males actually have blue coloration on their breast and belly. Like many other members of the subgenus Nothonotus, Greenbreast Darters have a moderately pointed snout.
