Slabrock Darter (Etheostoma smithi)

The Slabrock Darter is found in the lower Cumberland and Tennessee river drainages. As the common name suggest, Slabrock Darters are found over slab rocks and bedrock in pools of creeks and small rivers. As with other members of the Barcheek Darter group, the Slabrock Darter has a light iridescent bar on its cheek.
