Undescribed Holiday Darter Complex (Etheostoma sp cf brevirostrum)


The undescribed Holiday Darter is found in the Conasauga and Etowah river systems in northwest Georgia and southeast Tennessee. This is part of a species complex but has not been formally described. The common name of the undescribed Holiday Darter refers to the bright red and green colors found in breeding males. Like many members of the Snubnose Darter group, they have a blunt snout.
