The Longnose Dace has the widest distribution of any North American minnow stretching from Mexico to the Arctic Circle. Although most of their range is in northern North America, there is a population in the Cumberland River Drainage in Kentucky. They live in rocky riffles of creeks to medium rivers and lakes. As the common name suggests, Longnose Daces have a long snout.
