The Longnose Shiner is found in Gulf Coast drainages from Louisiana to Georgia, including the lower Mobile Basin, and the Altamaha River Drainage in Georgia. They are found over sandy substrate in small to large streams. As the common name suggests, Longnose Shiners have a relatively long snout.
