About This Fish

The Pretty Shiner is found in the Mobile Basin as well as a few adjacent tributaries to the Tennessee River in Mississippi and Alabama. They live in a variety of substrates in pools of small to medium creeks. Like other members of the genus Lythrurus, Pretty Shiners have small scales on their nape.
