The Walleye is widespread across central and eastern North America from Alabama to northern Canada, including the Tennessee and Cumberland river drainages. They have been introduced widely because of their popularity as a sport fish. Though they live in a variety of habitats, they are typically found in pools of small to large rivers or lakes in association with vegetation. Saugers and Walleyes have silvery eyes because of a special tissue that allows them to see very well at night.
