The Western Creek Chubsucker is found throughout the central United States from Texas and Georgia to Wisconsin and Michigan. They are found in backwater and undercut banks in creeks and small rivers. Like other members of their genus, Erimyzon, they lack a lateral line. Breeding males get large, horny tubercles on their snout.
